On the last May Bank holiday [31st May 2010] seven people from the Chiselbury Grove Strollers set off for a walk.
We started from the Moot car park in Downton on a dull but dry day for the 3 mile stroll.
We started with a gentle climb away from Downton from where we could see Breamore house and the Cathedral in one panoramic view.
Then through some bosky woods, past sandy hills and Lodge Farm. This is a very attractive area. Down the track to the road. We turned towards Downton and then turned off to the Water works [some say the sewage works]. This led us to the banks of the River Avon along the old railway track.
Along the banks into Millennium Green. Had some fun by the sundial but sadly no sun was available to check the time. Finally we strolled into the Moot.
The route for this walk can be found HERE
