SARUM U3A Press Release January 2006

The monthly Coffee Morning of Sarum U3A was held in its usual venue of St Francis Church Hall on Wednesday 18 January.

The Chairman, Peter Tee, welcomed any new members and wished everyone a Happy New Year.

Members were gathered for the first meeting of 2006 and to celebrate the New Year.

A welcome drink was followed by some dancing and then a series of activities organised by Jean Lunnon. It included collecting jokes, poems and quotations and also games (making and flying paper planes – the flying distance competition being won by Bryan Griffiths)

A social and enjoyable morning ended in a party mood with delicious refreshments prepared by many volunteers and organised by Mary Cole who, unfortunately, was unable to be there to receive the thanks and appreciation of everyone.

New members are always given a warm welcome. The next meeting is on 15 February when the speaker will be Ann Seviour on “The Ecology of the New Forest”.
