SARUM U3A

In this 25^th Anniversary year since the founding of the U3A, the March meeting in

St Francis Church Hall gave members the opportunity to show how they had been busying themselves this past year.  Some 20 Groups were able to exhibit a great variety of their work – art, woodwork, embroidery and photography – whilst others advertised, in many imaginative ways, their many interests, encouraging others to join them.  The whole exhibition was very well received by the 120 members present.

Jenny Mawer, acting Chairman, later presided over the AGM.  At the end of this meeting, presentations were made to 3 members of the Committee who were standing down after many years of valuable work:

            Mary Cole (Party and Coffee organiser)

            Bryan Griffiths (Treasurer)

            John Winders (Audio visual)

It is our custom, after the AGM, to entertain Group Leaders and Committee members to a light lunch by way of a "thank you" for all their hard work throughout the year.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 18 April when the Speaker will be Dr Denise Allen and the subject "The Trouble with Troy".
