SARUM U3A
A most impressive display of the activities of at least 15 of the study groups greeted members when they arrived for Sarum U3A’s March Coffee Morning. It showed very clearly some of the many activities which members took part in and the many talents and skills which members participated in and shared with each other.

It included exhibitions from the following groups: Local History, Bird Watching for beginners, Alternative Healing Discussion, Wood Carving, Small Collectables, Gardening, Town and Country Inns, Music Appreciation, Painting for Pleasure, Art and Artists, Bridge for Enjoyment, Creative Writing, Easy Listening Music, Dabbling in Crosswords, Architecture, Strollers and last but not least Croquet.

The regular functions, provided every month, of: welcoming new members; the book exchange stall; distribution of the Newsletter; and serving of coffee, were also available. The time given by members who do these things is greatly appreciated by everyone.

After browsing round the displays and chatting over coffee the AGM was held during which the Officers and Committee members for the 2005 year were elected.

The Chairman presented his Annual Report and expressed the hope that membership numbers would rise this year. The groups Organiser explained that the process of group forming would soon start and offers to lead groups would be welcomed. It was stressed that neither experience nor expertise was needed as the U3A way was for participation and involvement by group members.

The AGM was followed by a “Thank You” party for group leaders.

Our next coffee morning will be on April 20th at 10.30am at St Francis Church Hall when the speaker will be Ann Orr who will speak on “Protecting you, your Family, your Home and your Assets".
