SARUM U3A

This month’s Coffee Morning of Sarum U3A took the form of the annual Party to celebrate the New Year.  On arrival the hundred or so members attending saw a mock-up of a castle as the scenery of the Pantomime to come and a wonderful spread of buffet refreshments which were to be available after the entertainment.

The entertainment comprised a song with original words about the activities of the Local History Group, a most amusing reading and a comic song loosely based on “Among my Souvenirs”.  These were well received as the warm-up for a performance of a specially written version of the Pantomime “Cinderella”.

The writers, actors and singers (all members) were warmly applauded for their performances.  Following the entertainment members enjoyed the refreshments and had an opportunity to socialise.  Thanks are due to all the people who worked hard to provide a most enjoyable morning as it was greatly appreciated by everyone.

The next meeting is on Wednesday 18 February when we return to the usual format of our Coffee Mornings.  Our speaker will be Robert Baggs on “The Painters Practice – how they made the masterpieces of Western Art”.  This should be a popular topic.
Further information on Sarum U3A is in the reference section of the Public Library.
