After this coffee morning I shall be away until April. Roger and I are sailing on the “Black Watch” around Africa, into the Indian Ocean, to the Arab Emirates, through Suez and back across the Mediterranean. We will be home on March 24th. While I am away Jenny Mawr, who is our press secretary, will be standing in for me. She will be at the New Year’s Party, the February Coffee morning and the March A.G.M.
I would like to remind you that the tickets for the Party are on sale today, December 20th. If you haven’t already got a ticket by then, you can get one from Mrs. Clare Edwards at 6, Merrifield Road, Ford, Salisbury SP4 6DF. Please send a cheque for £4 made payable to Sarum U3A and a stamped addressed envelope.
In February, we shall be asking for nominations for next year’s Committee. Brian Griffiths, our treasurer is standing down after several years’ service and we will need a replacement. The U3A can function without a Chairman or Secretary etc. but it must have a Treasurer. So, please let one of the committee know if you would be prepared to replace Brian.

Thank you to the members who have sent renewal forms and cheques: it does spread the workload. Receipts and membership cards are being sent by return or asap. If you have paid and not received your receipt, you are probably one of several who did not enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Please see me at the coffee morning?
We don’t like losing any of our members but if you are not renewing your membership there are still several names on the waiting list. Do please let me know.
Don’t forget to let me have your 2007 subscription. Please make your cheque payable to: Sarum U3A. In addition, please don’t forget to send a stamp-addressed envelope with your renewal form. The deadline for renewal of your membership is the end of January 2007.

I expect everyone now has their diary for 2007 and it is filling up at an alarming rate. Please make
sure you have sorted out dates for next year’s meetings with your Group Leaders and filled
them in as a prior commitment. We all have busy lives with unexpected events, but it is difficult
and disappointing for Leaders and Coordinators if too many members miss too many meetings. Please
also note that, for reasons of fairness and insurance, to continue to attend groups you need to
have renewed your annual U3A subscription. I hope everyone enjoys the group activities as much
as I do!

drama production based on the real life story of C S Lewis and his relationship with Joy Davidmann. We

4th & 5th June
2-DAY LONDON VISIT. For South Kensington Museums, a West End Show and to
attend a full dress rehearsal at the Royal Hospital Chelsea for its Founder's Day Celebrations,
with lunch at the adjacent National Army Museum. Negotiations should be finalised very soon. Do
keep the dates free and await further details.
