Membership Renewal time is almost upon us. Click HERE and you will find two pages that need to be completed and returned to me by post or brought to the December Coffee Morning. If you are returning for another year of life enhancing membership, I will need an s.a.e. to get your Membership card to you. Holders for them will be available at Coffee Mornings. Posting them has proved to be a problem.
Members have commented very favourably on the style of the holders which, I hope, all of us will wear with pride - at least at the Coffee Mornings. I don’t know about you, but I welcome the visible reminder of your names. It’s an age thing isn’t it?!

From the Chairman
Dear Friends
One of the things we pride ourselves on in Sarum U3A is how friendly and welcoming we are, especially to new members. To that end, Phyl Mullins has been doing excellent work looking after new attendees at the Coffee Morning, showing them where everything is and generally making them feel at home. This has worked well and the Committee feels we could do with one or two more such Meeters and Greeters. If this is something you would like to do, please talk to Phyl or me at the next Coffee Morning. To make the whole thing more exciting, we have decided to give the Meeters and Greeters a bright red flower to wear so they are easily identifiable.
At the October Coffee Morning I asked for volunteers to organise a visit to Bletchley Park, the historic site of secret British code-breaking activities during WWII and birthplace of the modern computer.
I’m delighted to report that new members Terence and Barbara Herlihy have risen to the challenge and have already started the planning of the trip, which is likely to take place in the new year. More news to follow as arrangements firm up.

Coffee Mornings
Wednesday 17 November at 10.30 am
Colin Varndell returns to talk to us about “Hidden Dorset”.
There will also be an Exhibition of Paintings for Sale in the Neve Room by the Monday Painting for Pleasure groups. Prices are £10, £15 and £20.
Wednesday 15 December at 10.30 am
“The Belletones” will be ringing in Christmas with some Songs from the Shows, a selection of Christmas Carols, and some secular tunes.
New Year Party
The time has come round again for our annual festivities. This time we are calling it the 17th Anniversary Year Event and we have planned some special entertainment as well as the good food and drink.
The event is on Wednesday 19 January 2011 at St Francis’ Hall and tickets will be on sale at the November and December Coffee Mornings. The price is the same as last year at £5 which includes coffee, a free glass of wine and a buffet lunch.

**CAR PARKING** Please note free car parking at Tesco’s is no longer possible. As an alternative, the Park & Ride facility at London Road will be used. Obtain entry ticket and park in area immediately adjacent to entry point.
Driver should proceed to Reception area to insert ticket into machine and pay £2.50 to validate ticket for exit later. Bus Pass holders contact Reception staff for free entry/exit ticket. Please display U3A car sticker on front windscreen (available free on request).
