At our 10th Anniversary Meeting on 17th November the speaker will be Kathy Quinn, the well known Salisbury guide and local historian; and her subject will be "A light-hearted look at Salisbury".
After her talk we shall have a celebratory drink to mark this special occasion, with our past Chairman and other U3A members who have been closely involved in the work and development of Sarum during the past 10 years. We do hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us.

FEATURES

Back to School.
Don't fancy it? Well think again if it comes with the labels "Cheltenham" and "Summer". Accommodation is in student hostels, all single rooms, en suite, with telephone (and a socket for your computer) set in park-land with a lake. Even the food was enjoyable although those of us who were expecting lamb but were given sausage and mash weren't very gruntled! The courses? So many exciting ones to choose from; Church Architecture in the Cotswolds, Self-expression, Chinese with early morning exercises, Philosophy, Embroidery, Genetics with our own Phyll Babb, or (my favourite), Creative Writing.
My tutor, Maggie Smith was so well prepared and inspirational that the twelve writers frequently gave up coffee breaks to finish assignments. So if you have nothing planned for July 2005……?

National Conference 2004
Phyll Babb has written a most interesting report on the National Conference. Unfortunately there was not room to include it in this newsletter. A copy is on the notice board and if you wish you may obtain a copy from Peter Tee at the September Coffee Morning. Phyll ends her report: "Thank you for sending me. It was a privilege to attend." Thank you Phyll.
