From the Chairman |
I recently received a letter from the Countryside Access Development Officer for Wiltshire
County Council, Paul Broadstock. He is in the process of consulting people as to their needs
and views about access to footpaths, by-ways and bridleways. He also asked about the
state of the paths and the condition of gates and stiles. I have sent back his questionnaire
but thought, as we have two walking groups and other members who enjoy the countryside, I would
suggest that individual members who have particular complaints, or are pleased with a path
they have followed, might like to contact him. His address is County Hall, Bythesea Road,
Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JD. |
From the Groups Organiser (on 335909).
Thank you for your excellent cooperation with the annual groups allocation exercise, which has worked
out well, although some particularly popular groups have waiting lists. I am sure we shall all
enjoy our chosen groups when the new season begins in September.
Allocation Reply Slips will be available at the 18 July Coffee Morning or by post with Newsletters.
If you have a query, contact Jean on the above number.
Please note two changes to the published programme: Watercolour Painting (in its new venue of the
Harnham Scouts Hut) will now be 2-4 p.m. Also, Gwen (01980 652698) has kindly taken over as
Leader of the Gardening Group. Best wishes to Terry.
There has been much demand for the South Wilts Computing Beginners Course in both September and February,
so, as predicted, we have had to draw lots to sort out participants and the Waiting List
order. We depend on South Wilts Grammar School and Salisbury U3A to run this course, so the
final list may not be known by the time Reply Slips go out. Applicants will be contacted separately
as soon as possible.
