GROUPS and EDUCATION

U3A INSURANCE
Group Leaders and members should be aware that U3A insurance covers only paid-up U3A members. Inclusion of non-members in groups or activities may compromise any liability claim. If a Group Leader does need to make a claim, a form is available from the Membership Secretary (322570).

Walking Group
28th July
Rockbourne, Rose and Thistle
N.B.  Park in the Village Hall car park.
Walk has several stiles and some woodland trails, so could be muddy.
We need to start walking promptly at 10.00am please.

Group Allocations
Group allocation reply slips are available at the July Coffee Morning or delivered with your July Newsletter (separately if you receive this by e-mail). Please note all the relevant details in your diary and in due course contact the Group Leader to confirm the starting date. Many groups are full, so if you wish to withdraw, please phone the Groups Organiser on 335909 as soon as possible so that those on Waiting Lists can be contacted.

Town & Country Inns
There has been excellent response for this new idea, so there will be two separate groups – same dates, different venues. Members will be informed on their reply slip as to which group they are in (mainly A for 1st priority choices, B for the rest) and how to book. It will be essential to book at least 2 days before for each lunch - Jim on 332263 for Group A and Jean on 335909 for Group B.

Wood carving
Demand has exceeded places, but Allan has very kindly offered to run an afternoon session as well.

The aim of this group is to give members a better understanding of the modern world.
The group meets on the last Monday of the month usually at the Harnham Memorial Hall. The meetings start at 10 am and last about 1½ hours.
All are welcome. You do not have to sign up. Just come if you wish.
Our season will begin on September 26th with a talk by Colin McKenzie on
"How TV signals get to your TV set".
For your diaries we will be having other meetings on Oct 31st, Nov. 28th, Jan 30th, Feb. 27th, Mar 27th. The season ends on April 24th with a visit to the Langford Lake Reserve where Chris Riley will give us a talk and tour entitled
"Ecology and Conservation"
All the lectures will be posted on the salisburyu3a.org.uk web site for reference under the Joint category.
Contact Peter Read [501218] or Chris Penfold [325220].

Photography Forays
This group is now every other week on a Friday until September. Members of the group include every one who has been on Sheila and Peter's Photography Groups, and also includes some members of Sarum U3A.
At the end of a trip the participants decide on the next meeting so it is essential that those who miss a meeting ring to find out times and venues for the next.

Next meeting July 22nd.

Ring: 01722 501218
