From The Chairman

Dear Friends
You may be interested in perusing our website which we share with Salisbury and Spire U3As, www.salisburyu3a.org.uk. It contains everything you’d wish to know about Sarum U3A including: the list of groups for 2010/11, details of future outings, all the recent newsletters and press releases(i.e. Salisbury Journal articles) and details of past and future coffee morning speakers. It also contains links to the websites of a number of U3As in the south, providing a flavour of how they operate and including features we may wish to adopt. For example, Basingstoke U3A’s site contains a hilarious video clip of their pantomime Cinderella; the West WiltsU3A photo gallery is a magnificent and varied record of their festivities; the Harrow U3A website contains hundreds of links to worldwide U3A and equivalent institutes. If you have any ideas for enhancing our website, please get in touch. Happy surfing!
With best wishes, Gordon Pardy

Groups

Groups Next Year
Have you sent in your application form? If not, it must be handed in at the coffee morning on Wednesday 16th June or posted to arrive by Friday 18th June.
If you miss this deadline, the first sort into groups will have taken place and, sadly you are likely to miss out on groups you enjoy. You will receive your slip telling you what groups you are in at the coffee morning in July or by post immediately after.
Linda Farrow, Groups Organiser

Walking Group
The walking group met on Thursday May 25 at Linwood. As the previous day had been wet and miserable we were prepared with our waterproofs but they were not needed. The New Forest was looking wonderful and we heard the cuckoo – a first for many of us this year. Marilyn Hunter brought her pointer, Bella, a rescue dog which had spent its first six years on a puppy farm. It was delightful to see her learning to play and explore.
If you  would like to join us on our next walk on June 24 starting at the White Hart at 10am at Bishopstone, please ring me on 01722 336609 by June 22.
We aim to walk an average of 5 miles and we go at a steady pace. For those of you who are interested in something a little more energetic, Pat Cliff is starting a Striders Group in the Autumn
Mary Compton
