The last chance to order your U3A 2009 diary is at the June Coffee Morning. If you would like to order one, please sign the list on the Noticeboard. Could you please note that orders can only be accepted when accompanied by payment. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Sarum U3A’. Cash can of course be given to me in person.

The group will meet at the Silver Plough in Pitton at 10.00 am for a 4 1/2 mile walk to Hound Wood and West Winterslow. Leader is Neil (711741).

Exploring Bus Routes

Now that our bus passes are valid nationwide, we can explore a little further for free. Olive is busy, but I would be happy to coordinate a ride to Studland National Trust Beach via Bournemouth on Thursday 3 July, taking the 10.10 X3 from Salisbury Bus Station. If you are interested in this or other bus trips, please contact Jean (335909).

Joint U3A Outings & Visits

Thursday 14 August

A visit with guided tour and three course lunch on board Saga Rose at Southampton Docks. After lunch there will be a visit to Mottisfont Abbey House and Garden near Romsey. Departure from Coach Park at 10.15 and Tesco’s at 10.30. Return from Mottisfont at 5.15. Cost £40.50 including lunch (£34.00 for NT members). Please note that the visit is for U3A members only. This is now fully booked but a waiting list is being kept.

Thursday 13 November

A visit to the Mayflower Theatre for a performance by the Welsh National Opera of the Barber of Seville (sung in English).
 Departure from the Coach Park at 5.45 and Tesco’s at 6.15. Return from Southampton at 10.15.
Total cost £33.10. The performance commences at 7.15 and the running time is 2hrs 50 mins.

Tuesday 10 March 2009

A return visit to the Mayflower Theatre for a performance by the Welsh National Opera of “The Marriage of Figaro”. Early booking is required. Full details are available from John now and the booking list is open now for postal reservations. At present the cost is £33.10 but this may rise for later bookings! Cheques, payable to “Salisbury U3A”, should be clearly endorsed “Figaro” on the reverse, together with your telephone number and pick up point.

Cottage for Rent

A two bedroomed cottage, situated between Dinan and Combourg in Normandy, is for rent at £125 per week until the end of 2008, when it will be sold.  Further information and photographs from Ena Baldock (327774).

Newsletter Deliveries

You can receive your Newsletters in three ways: by email (see below), in person at each Coffee Morning or by post. Future free deliveries in the St Francis area are likely to cease.

 If you want to receive it by post then you MUST let me have sufficient stamped addressed envelopes.

The cost of subsidising those who do not provide envelopes falls on other members.
