Welcome to the three New Members listed below: Elizabeth Broadbent, Patricia Carter and Lynn Hiscock. |
We still need more help to assist in the running of your U3A. The immediate need
is for someone to take over the responsibility for our microphone and loudspeaker system. This
is a small but important task that is key to our monthly meetings and your contribution is
urgently needed. We are a wholly voluntary organisation and the more help we have the
easier it becomes for all of us. Please contact any member of the committee if you are willing
to assist.

Applying for Groups 2008-2009
The time of year has come when you will very soon receive the programme for the coming year and your
application form. I know I look forward to balancing the known enjoyment of groups to which I have
belonged with the lure of new opportunities. Please take time to read the accompanying information
to make sure that the groups you apply for suit you. It is really important that you put
your choices in priority order. I shall do my best to give you all your first choice (and
your others too!) but as we often meet in people’s houses, numbers for some groups are, inevitably
limited.
Group leaders: I will give you a list of those in your group and anyone who is on a waiting list to
join your group. Please let me know if a space becomes available during the year so that I can
contact anyone who is still on the waiting list.
Members will receive their allocation to groups at, or immediately after the July coffee morning. Linda

At the last two meetings there has been a spontaneous collection for the charity represented by the
speaker. As the Speakers Secretary, I would like to make it understood that this is not obligatory.
If the talk or speaker touched anyone enough to make them feel that they would like to give a donation,
then feel free to do so. Equally, just because there is a box on show, please do not feel that you
have to make a contribution. It is entirely voluntary.
Thank you. Ena Baldock.
