Groups

Next Year's Programme

Thanks to all the Group Leaders who have already said they will continue to run their group next year.  I hope some of you who have not run a group before will "give it a go". U3A works by people sharing their skills and enthusiasms.

If you are a new or relatively new member -please do not be shy of offering - your fellow members would really appreciate it. There is no right way to run a group - you do it how you like. We really do need some more capacity now we have new members. For instance: we have had several requests for a Beginners Italian. Could you run this?

Please get in touch with me if you have any ideas.

Thanks, Linda Farrow (01722 710599)

Sarum U3A Visit

Friday 29 May at 6.00 pm

A visit is arranged to the Porton Down Conservation site to see orchids and listen to a talk given by Stuart Corbett.  Anyone interested should contact Rosanna Lee (evenings only on 336089).  For security reasons you will need to give your name, address, date of birth and car registration number.  You should wear sensible clothing and stout footwear.  A maximum of 30 is allowed and the cut off date is 1 May.

Directions to DSTL:
Take the Amesbury road out of Salisbury.  Turn right at the Beehive and drive through Old Sarum past the two sets of traffic lights.  Keep going on that road until you reach the Winterbourne Gunner roundabout.  Go straight across the roundabout, follow the road until you reach Porton Village which is the first turning right.  Drive through the village past the shop and a crossroads when you will come to the train bridge with traffic lights.  Continue under the bridge and take the first turning left signposted for Porton Down.  Follow the road until you come to the Reception and Main Gate.  There is plenty of parking space.
