| Outings secretary John Ewington gave notice of the following outings:
July 13 to Highclere Castle and gardens. July 23 visit on board the Queen Mary. Those on the list to bring their passports. September 23 to Clarence House and Buckingham Palace. October 12 is a mystery tour. December 1 to see "The Merry Widow" at Southampton. December 8 a shopping trip to the outlet shopping mall at Swindon.

The Reverend Roger Hawkins gave an illustrated talk on the history of English Cathedrals in needlepoint. He had sketched then embroidered all 43 cathedrals, and covered one side of a four-panel screen with pre Reformation cathedrals. On the other side were the post Reformation ones. His knowledge of the subject was unlimited, and he interspersed facts with anecdotes about each place. |
