At the meeting held on May 3, the chairman welcomed many new members. He asked for volunteers to make coffee each month. Ivan Raynsford Smith praised the excellent organisation of the trip to Dublin, and presented John Ewington with a well deserved bottle of Scotch.


John Ewington gave notice of the outings to come.
There are some vacancies on the garden visits on June 12 to Oxford Botanic garden and on July 12 to Knoll garden.
Other forthcoming outings are to Windsor Castle and St. George’s Chapel on June 21, and to Waddesdon Manor on July 19.

Volunteers were needed to assist 14-15 year old pupils at Downton school in the week of July 17, doing applique and collage work.


There is a bus walk to Parsonage Down on Monday June 16 to see the wild orchids.

They all spoke enthusiastically about their courses, and stirred up the interest of the audience.
