Rosemary Nicholls was presented with an orchid in recognition of her great work as Outings Secretary for the past ten years.
Chris Dickson asked for tutors to return forms, and for any suggestions for new courses.
John Ewington, Outings Secretary, announced the following: 28 April to Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Centre; 18 May, Legal and Illegal London; 10 June, Isle of Wight; 13 July, Highclere Castle, Newbury; 23 September, Clarence House and Buckingham Palace.
Neville Jennings gave notice of two evenings at Sarum College - 25 May, poetry and 27 July, literature and spirituality.
The A.G.M. was held. The treasurer had rising costs to balance against income, and the committee proposed raising the subscription from January 2006 to £9. This was agreed. Jack Leeming was elected Chairman. The Secretary and Treasurer remain, and new committee members are Barbara Coulson, John Ewington, and Ivan Raynsford Smith. David Waymouth gave a vote of thanks to John Illston, who retired as Chairman.
Beryl Mellish, the Regional representative for Wessex on the National Executive council of the U3A, gave a talk on the progress of the NEC.
