Thursday 15 July We visit a small, family run LAVENDER FARM situated between Selbourne and Alton. We shall enjoy an afternoon guided tour of the farm and distillery and a stroll through the lavender fields, followed by cream tea in the farmhouse garden. Cost £16 includes coach travel, driver gratuity, guided tour and cream tea. Depart Millstream Coach Park, Castle Street (S) 1 pm, Tesco's, Southampton Road (T) 1.15 pm. Wednesday 11 August A visit to CHICHESTER with a City guided walking tour on arrival followed by a visit to the Cathedral. After enjoying a break for lunch (own arrangements) there will be leisure time before boarding the coach to join a 90 minute Chichester Harbour Water tour. Cost: £22.00 to include coach travel, driver gratuuity, City guided tour and water tour. Depart Millstream Coach Park, Castle Street (S) 9 am, Tesco's Southampton Road (T) 9.15 am. Thursday 9 September Morning visit to HAMPTON COURT PALACE, GARDENS and MAZE, followed by leisure time and an afternoon Thames River Cruise to Runnymede. Hopefully, time permitting, a short visit to view the Magna Carta memorial prior to our return journey. Cost: £32.50 to include coach travel, driver gratuity, entrance fee to Hampton Court Palace, Gardens and Maze, river cruise Hampton Court to Runnymede (4 hours). Wednesday 13 October Visit to KINGSTON LACY HOUSE AND GARDENS (National Trust property) at Wimborne Minster followed by leisure time for shopping and sightseeing in BOURNEMOUTH. Kingston Lacy is a grand 17th century house designed by Sir Roger Pratt. The house contains an outstanding picture collection with works by Rubens, Titian, Van Dyck and Lely. The Spanish Room in gilded leather and gilded ceiling, brought from the Contarini Palace in Venice, is a special feature. Cost: £18 (National Trust members £8 - bring membership card) to include coach travel, driver gratuity and entry to House and Gardens. Friday 3 December (note change of date previously advised) We visit OXFORD and the ASHMOLEAN MUSEUM. Newly re-furbished and arranged over 5 floors and 39 galleries. Price will include entry to the special Pre-Raphaelites and Italy exhibition. A 'must' for your diary. Booking from September.

WELSH NATIONAL OPERA (WNO) 2010/11 SEASON

We have secured seats for a performance of Mozart's MAGIC FLUTE on Thursday 25 November 2010 when we step into Mozart's wonderful world of make believe. Performance starts at 7.15 pm. Running time approximately 2 hours 50 minutes. Centre Stall seats. To be sung in English with English surtitles. Cost £43.50 to include coach travel, driver gratuity and seat in the Stalls. Depart Wilton opposite Italianate Church (W) 5.15 pm, Millstream Coach Park, Castle Street (S) 5.45 pm, Tesco's, Southampton Road 6.15 pm. Book now. Note: All bookings received from 16 June will include a surcharge of £5 per ticket.

Tickets have also been secured for a performance of DIE FLEDERMAUS by Johann Strauss II on Wednesday 23 March 2011. This opera is described as 'a delicious Viennese treat'. Centre Stall seats are reserved. Performance starts at 7.15 pm. Running time approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. To be sung in English with Engligh surtitles. Cost £38.50 to include coach travel, driver gratuity and seat in the Stalls. Departure times as for 25 November 2010. Book now. Note: Booking deadline date 15 September 2010. Bookings received after this date subject to availability and will incur a surcharge of £5 per ticket.

Separate cheques requested for each performance. Both performances take place at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton.

PARKING REMINDER. When parking at Tesco's please use the lower end of the car park. Turn left when entering. Please cooperate or we shall lose this free facility.

PAYMENTS FOR OUTINGS. Cheques payable to 'Salisbury U3A'. No cash. Separate cheque each outing. Please show Membership card when booking. CANCELLATION POLICY. Cancellations will be treated sympathetically and no charge will be incurred within one month of Booking Start date. After this refunds will be subject to re-sale less £1 administration charge.

OUTINGS NEWS by mail. If you do not come to meetings regularly and would like Outings News mailed to you on a monthly basis, send stamped addressed envelope(s) to John Ewington and this will be done. Some Sarum and Spire members find this method particularly useful.

NATIONAL TRUST GROUP MEMBERSHIP is regrettably no longer available. National Trust members visiting an NT property pay the coach fare only, but must bring their NT membership card with them

CAR SHARE. Some members have asked if a lift can be offered to and from the coach departure point. Any members able to offer this facility and those requiring a lift please sign the list on the Outings Desk. A contribution (minimum £1 per person) to assist with fuel and other costs is suggested.
