A small group visited Broadlands in Romsey, the home of the present Lord Romsey and formerly the home of Lord Mountbatten. We enjoyed a guided tour of this magnificent Palladian house, remodelled by the 2nd Lord Palmerston from the former Jacobean House of which some traces remain upstairs. There is a museum devoted to the life of lord Mountbatten and many magnificent items of furniture, statuary and objets d'Art.
