U3A Archaeology group

had a display at Salisbury Museum on the 15th July 2006 –
National Archaeology Day.
Many people passed by and were interested in our stand. We were able to show them
photographs of last years 'dig' and to tell them of our hopes for a survey of the whole
of the Old Sarum site.

This will be to find out the size of the Roman town –
SORVIODUNUM - an area that has never been surveyed in its entirety.
It would be an asset to Salisbury to be able to demonstrate the site of a Roman town
on our doorstep, and for all to learn more about the Romans who lived here so long before us.
